Expecting the expecting.

My mom has already started giving me stuff for the baby, and we aren't even pregnant yet! She's given me all my old baby clothes and toys, and we've started a lay-away at the local department store and started picking up things such as baby monitors, strollers, and diapers diapers diapers.

I'm so excited! I can't wait for when I'm actually pregnant! We are already thinking of baby names. I have decided that I don't really care if I end up with a baby boy anymore, just so long as we get to start our little family as soon as possible.

My hubby has suggested the baby names Daniel and Amanda. Which is really awesome because I was thinking of the name Amanda, too. But I am not too keen on the name Daniel. I've known way too many Daniels in my time, haha. I think I like the name Jared a little bit more. Jared Kyle. And the girls name can be Amanda Leigh. Leigh is the best middle name ever. My mom's middle name is Leigh, and so is my cousin's!

Oh, I also wanted to tell you guys I've decided to start knitting. I'm making our baby's first BABY BLANKET! It's going to be so awesome, plus it will give me something to do when I'm bloated and my feet are swollen and I really don't wanna get up and walk around! Tomorrow I'm gonna go pick out the perfect yarn for my baby's blanket.

Getting ready

So, today I started taking PRENATAL VITAMINS. Which is weird to me, because I have never in my life taken any kind of vitamins regularly. They usually make me feel really sick, and I have even thrown up from taking them! But I know I have to do this because it's what's best for our baby.

The doctor told me to lay off the caffeine and gave me a list of foods to stay away from during the pregnancy. So I've made copies of the list and posted one on the refrigerator, and I also carry a copy of it in my purse for when we go out to eat.

I'm also supposed to gain a little bit of weight during the pregnancy, OBVIOUSLY. Haha. Just not too much, since I'm already a little chubby. And apparently being active in safe ways such as baby safe yoga is really good for you and your baby!

Oh, and the doctor told me that apparently I'm not supposed to be around cats while I'm pregnant because cat feces can cause birth defects or miscarriage. Isn't that odd? I never knew that at all. At least it's not THAT big of a deal, we don't have any cats or anything. But I guess a lot of moms to be have to go through the horrible feelings of getting rid of their little kitties. How sad for them =(

The Pitter-Patter of Little Feet!

I'm getting married soon, so naturally I am hoping to conceive my first baby! My hubby and I are hoping for a little girl.

First off I need to keep up with when I'm ovulating so I can figure out when my husband and I can make love with the highest risk of conceiving our little girl. I've already starting thinking of names! And I know that I wanted her bedroom done in yellows and greens. Gender neutral colors are so much better than the classic pink and blue.

Besides, I don't want to train my baby to take up the expected gender role, I want her to be a free spirit and discover for herself what she wants to do with her life.

Anyways! So we are going to start hoping for positive tests results any time after the wedding, which is coming up in just a couple of months! But we're so excited that our parents are already buying us stuff for the baby-- just in those yellows and greens, because you know there's ALWAYS a chance that we'll end up with a little boy. Which is perfectly fine, too!
